Just In: The Officials of USA Boxing have announced the Inauguration Dates of the 2022 National Championships, starting from Dec. 3-10 at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center in Lubbock, Texas, with around 1,000 boxers between the ages of nine and 39 expected to compete.
While sharing the opening dates of the National Championships, the President and CEO of Lubbock Sports, John Osborne, said, “We are excited to welcome USA Boxing back to Lubbock for the 2022 USA Boxing National Championships.”
“Lubbock’s integral partnership with USA Boxing has helped boost our local boxing community through significant financial support to our athletes that have placed us on the route of a strong boxing region. We look forward to hosting these athletes and getting back inside the ring to witness exciting competitions,” he added.
On this occasion, the USA Boxing Executive Director and CEO, Mike McAtee, said, “Our National Champions is the biggest event for us every year. Perhaps, this year we hope to witness some of the best boxing in not only the United States but the rest of the world.”
The current season of the US National Championships expects the registration of 1000 Boxers from across the country, hoping to claim the title of National Champions. Currently, Texas is leading the way with over 400 boxers already registered with some big names, such as Gabriel Rubio and Edgar Herrera.
