2023 Pak vs. NZ ODI: Babar Azam names another Cricketing Record

Pakistan’s skipper and spearhead top-order batter, Babar Azam, has named another cricketing record by overtaking Hashim Amla’s Record of Most Runs at the present moment of his Career.

The seasoned Baber scored a match-winning Half-century against New Zealand in the first ODI match in Karachi. Of course, his controlled knock helped Green Caps win the series opener by 6-wickets.

Despite displaying Losing performances in the recently-concluded Test Series, the all-format skipper didn’t miss an opportunity during the first ODI, scoring 66 runs off 82 balls, including one six and five boundaries.

With brilliant innings, the Lahore-born Cricket not just helped his side by leading the three-match series by 1-0 but has also completed 4,30 runs in his 91st ODI innings, the fastest by any batter in the ODI Format.

It is pertinent to mention that the South African iconic batter, Hasim Amla stands second on his list with 4,570 runs in the same number of matches. If Baber scores 270 runs in the next nine innings, he will break Amla’s record of scoring 5000 runs in just 100 games.

The 28-year-old Cricketer is also dominating the table for most in the current calendar year of ICC Men’s World Cup Super League, showcasing 1,371 runs at an impressive average of 80.64.

Notably, the accomplished batter has also finished 2022 as the Most Run-Scorer across all three cricketing formats (ODI, Test & T20), scoring 2,598 runs at an average of 54.12.
