British Firm “Ineos” showed Interest in Buying Manchester United

Just In: Sir Jam Ratcliffe, the well-known British Billionaire, and owner of a Firm named “Ineos,” have formally shown an interest in buying Manchester United. The news came after United’s owners expressed their consideration of selling the club and exploring various strategic alternatives.

Sources from Ineos have confirmed that the company had “Formally put ourselves into the process.”

It is pertinent to mention that Ratcliffe had also bid a whopping £4.25bn offer to buy Chelsea last year after Russian owner Roman Abramovich auctioned off the London club; however, the deal was closed unsuccessfully.

The present interest holder for Manchester United, Ratcliffe, is an infancy fan of Manchester United and one of the UK’s most successful businessmen. His current net worth is estimated at around £11bn (Forbes) and £6bn (Sunday Time), making him the 27th wealthiest person in the UK.

Among other Business Ventures, Ratcliffe’s petrochemicals firm “Ineos” contributes the most in his annual earnings, estimated at £50bn per annum. This firm has 26,000 employees and active branches across 29 countries.

Notably, this is not the first time Ratcliffe has expressed interest in purchasing United. After failing to acquire Chelsea, he had several meetings with Joel and Avram Gazer, the owners of United, but they had no interest at the time.

Now, the Glazers family has changed their stance and looking for the best bidders for Club Sale. The Glazers Family has been the running owners of Manchester United since 2005, and now they want to explore several Strategic Options for the club’s betterment, including its Sale.

Interestingly, Ineos group holds a commendable Sporting Portfolio in Europe. The group owns French Ligue 1 club Nice and Swiss Club Lausanne. Meanwhile, they have partnered with Formula 1 team Mercedes and British-based Team Sky in cycling.
