Just In: Bill Haney expects a fight between his son, undisputed Lightweight Champion Devin Haney (29-0, 14 KOs), and World’s no. 1 WBC Vasyl Lomachenko. However, Bill looks up to promoters rather than making announcements himself.
“I think we could have an announcement soon. If I did know the date, I wouldn’t say anything because that’s not my job to announce it. My job is to try and deliver it”, said Bill Haney about the Vasyl Lomachenko and Devin Haney Fight.
Lomachenko is currently in the Lightweight division, and to go up to Light Welterweight, the last thing he needs to do is to fight against Haney. Meanwhile, Bill is making fun of Teofime Lopez by posting videos of him trying to approach him about putting a fight together with Teo and Devin.
On the sidelines, Teofimo Jr has confirmed his fight against Sandor Martin on December 10th on ESPN+, and odds predict he might lose that match. Of course, Teofimo might prefer to go for retirement if he gets defeated by that guy, just like Mikey Garcia did after being upstaged by Spaniard Fighter.
Of course, team Haney was eyeing on Lomachenko Fight for a long time, and they’re getting close to it. It’ll be fun watching Haney fighting 34-year-old former three-division World Champion Lomachenko (17-2, 11 KOs) because he is unbeatable in the 135-lb division.
