Just In: It’s been 17 years since the American Glazer Family bought the English Premier League Football Club, and now they are commencing various alternative strategies, including the partial sale of the club or recruitment of new investors.
According to media reports, the Glazer Family and financial advisers are reportedly engaged in talks regarding the process, which may lead to investments like renovation and redevelopment of the Old Trafford Club’s infrastructure or a partial sale of the club.
“The administration has permitted us to thoroughly evaluate the strategic options as we work to maintain the club’s successful history. We will consider all options and do our best to serve the fans,” says the Co-Chairmen and Director of Manchester United.
Notably, the Glazer Family has come under a lot of fan pressure who are calling for a change in ownership of the club because Manchester United has not won a major championship in the previous five years. The last time United won silverware was in the 2017 League Cup and Europa League.
It is pertinent to mention that In August, British Businessman Jim Ratcliffe showed his intentions of buying the United, while a few days ago, Elon Musk had also expressed his plans to buy the club.
