Just In: The living icons and former NBA Champions Shaquille O’Neal and Alonzo Mourning joined hands to raise charity for the refurbishment of a Basketball Court at a youth center in South Beach. Perhaps, their duo allows fans to cheer about while recalling their golden day.
The former Basketball Powerhouses, who honored Miami with NBA Championship in 2006, are working together for the renovation of basketball court as part of a $20 million youth center construction project in South Beach, Miami.
It is pertinent to mention that the project is funded by the Shaquille O’Neal Foundation and its partner Icy Hot, as part of their Comebaq Courts program that aims to renovate and refurbish rundown courts across the US.
Talking on CNBC, O’Neal said, “When I was selected in 1992, the first thing my mom said to me was, Baby, now you’re rich and famous, you have a responsibility to take care all these kids look up to you. You have to say the right thing and do the right thing.”
“Shaq and I didn’t reach up here by ourselves. We got here because of the contribution of other people. I’m very fortunate and I know he is very fortunate for those people to help us get to this point. I think we’ll stick with this basketball court,” said Mourning.
