Just In: After receiving harsh criticism for preparing a Dead & Flat pitch for the Rawalpindi Test Match between England and Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board has opted to build a competitive playing surface at Multan, which will host the second test starting on December 9.

In this perspective, Muhammad Yousaf has left the team and traveling to Multan to look after the pitch preparations. Of course, Head Coach Saqlain Mushtaq has ordered Yousaf to monitor Multan’s surface and make it according to international cricketing standards.

It is pertinent to mention that English National Team is visiting Pakistan to play 3 test match series. Their opening match was started on Dec 1 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. However, the dead behavior of the surface shocked worldwide fans.

On day one, English openers scored more than 200 runs partnershipfor the first wicket while ending the day proceedings on 500+ runs in just 102 overs. Surprisingly, a similar play was witnessed on the following two days when two other English batters scored centuries, and then three Pakistani batters scored hundreds.

With bowlers on the receiving end for the first three days of the test, fans took the internet by storm, slamming PCB for preparing a flat and road-quality surface and demanding the ICC to reward the cricket board with negative points.

PCB’s chairman Ramiz Raja himself admitted the poor quality of the Rawalpindi pitch; therefore, the board has now decided to prepare a competitive and international-quality pitch at Multan Cricket Stadium to allay the complaints of supporters.
