With minimal chances of reaching the Knockouts, South Korea will face already-qualified Portugal on Friday. If the Asian Nation manages to pull off any upset, their prospect of entering the Last 16 still depends on the outcomes of the Ghana and Uruguay clash.

Paulo Bento’s managed side Korea kicked off the tournament by playing an opening match against Uruguay on November 24, while displaying a naive and tactic-less performance, the Asian Nation ended with a goalless draw.

In the next game, they faced Ghana at Education City Stadium, where they evened a 2-2 score until the 83rd minute when Mohammed Kudus scored the third goal for his side and secured three crucial points for Ghana.

The pre-tournament favorites, Portugal, displayed a performance that was in line with expectations. They are taking the top spot with a spot reserved in the knockout rounds after winning two of their first two games.

The Santos side inaugurated the event’s campaign with a 3-2 triumph over Ghana and then defeated Uruguay in the next game by 2-0. Notably, Cristiano Ronaldo won the record as the first footballer to score in Five World Cups after netting the football against Ghana. Of course, Portugal will strive to defeat South Korea and take first place in their group.
