Just In: Big News is coming for Pakistani Cricketing Fields as a US-native cricket team Houston Hurricanes, has agreed to play three-T20 match series against Quetta Gladiators in the last week of January.
According to the Official Schedule, the White-Ball Series will kick start from January 29 to 31 in Karachi, which means it will be three matches for three consecutive days. Notably, the series will end just a few days before the inauguration of the 8th edition of the Pakistan Premier League.
It is pertinent to mention that it will be the first time that any PSL team will play a team from the United States that genuinely comprises low-experienced players, and a contender of Minor League Cricket’s (MLC) Central Division.
The Hurricanes will come to Pakistan with a complete squad, consisting of a mix of cricketers from their 2021 roster and a few US-based professionals from MLC Cricket. Therefore, cricket fans can expect a bittering battle from both ends.
As per internal sources, the traveling side of Hurricanes may include Nauman Anwer, Shayan Jahangir, Lahiru Melantha, Shehan Jayasuriya, Nosthush Kenjige, Usman Rafiq, Mohammad Mohsin, and Mathew Tromp as front liners.
Of course, the event will be privileged with a Formal Opening Ceremony that will possibly feature special guests Donald Blome, US Ambassador to Pakistan, and William K. Makaneole, US Consul General in Lahore.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board is planning to observe the upcoming Kashmir Day in a sporting way; therefore, they have scheduled an exhibition match between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi at Bugti Stadium, Balochistan.
In this perspective, the higher officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board have visited the Quetta Cricket Stadium with Production and Marketing teams to review the stadium’s situation.
After the visit, the PCB’s administration expressed their satisfaction with the development, saying, “We are too happy to play a match at our home for the very first time as Bugti Stadium is a great playing venue and an unmatched treat for Quetta fans.”
