Just In: Pakistan’s ace left-arm pacer, Shahid Afridi, loses his ranking on the ICC Test Bowlers List after dropping from third to fifth place. Notably, the English fast bowler James Anderson has advanced to the third spot after getting 4-wickets on the last day of the first test against Pakistan.

According to the latest Test Bowlers Rankings, the number one slot is conquered by Australia’s red-ball skipper Pat Cummins, who performed impressively in recent months, while the second spot is retained by Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

The attacking bowler for England, James Anderson, who took five wickets in the first test match against Pakistan in Rawalpindi, has moved to third place from fifth. Jasprit Bumrah, meanwhile, has maintained fourth place for three months running.

Perhaps, the prime reason behind Shaheen’s fall is the fatal injury the pacer sustained last year while playing a test in Galle against Sri Lanka. Despite recovering from injury, Shaheen was again declared unfit during the recently concluded World Cup in Australia and dropped out of the test squad against England.

Kagiso Rabada of South Africa is in sixth place on the list, followed by Kyle Jameison of New Zealand and Ollie Robinson of England, in that order. Neli Wagner and Mitchell Starc are reserving the 9th and 10th spots, respectively.
