Just In: Pakistan’s former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed has answered all the critics with the Bat as his 118 runs knock during a crucial situation helped Pakistan in a draw and avoid confirmed defeat.
Men in Green currently are hosting New Zealand for two-match test series, and their second test finished in a Draw at Karachi, which most credit going to Sarfaraz Ahmed, who guided Pakistan out of hassle.
There was a moment when Pakistan was fumbling to reach a target of 319 runs as they were five down on just 80 runs. However, Sarfaraz Ahmed didn’t give up and took conditions under control by playing historical innings of 118 runs.
Shortly after the match, Pakistan’s newly appointed interim selector Shahid Afridi appreciated Sarfaraz for his rescuing Innings but made it clear that for most team management Muhammad Rizwan was the team’s first choice for white-ball cricket.
While talking to a Local Sports Channel, Shahid Aridi said, “I’m happy that Sarfaraz has made an impressive comeback and showcased such an amazing performance, but Mohammad Rizwan is available, and he is our leading wicket-keeper in both ODIs and T20s.”
“Rizwan is in good form, and if he gets injured or feel tired, we’ll then look for other available options. Let’s not mix someone’s Red ball performance with that of limited or ODI cricket format,” concluded the Interim Chief Selector.
It is pertinent to mention that most cricketers, including Mohammad Rizwan, congratulated Sarfaraz for his brilliant comeback against New Zealand, saying, “Brilliant knock by Saifi Bhai again; this is what determination and belief in Allah get you.”
