Just In: After defeating Zach Parker by a fifth-round stoppage last Saturday night in London, John Ryder has fancied his chances to fight Canelo Alvarez in May as his WBO Mandatory for his 168-lb title. Perhaps, Eddie Hearn is looking forward to host Canelo vs. Ryder Fight at the 6000-seater Emirates in London.

The British Promoter Hearn believes if Canelo comes to the United Kingdom to defend the title against ‘The Gorilla’ Ryder (32-5, 18 KOs), it would be a massive success for UK Boxing. Meanwhile, the fans unarguable want to see Canelo fighting against the best fighter at 168 from England.

Talking to DAZN Boxing Show Eddie Hearn said, “So we’ll have to see what they’re thinking and the options for the fight for Canelo. We’re not involved with Demetrius, but John Ryder has gotten himself to a position for WBO World Title after defeating Daniel Jacobs and Zach Parker. If Canelo Alvarez looking for an Interm Fight, I’d love to bring Canelo to the UK.”

However, everyone is waiting for the decision of Canelo Alvarez over this fight as he recently passed on the idea of fighting Dmitry Bivol in a rematch in Match. Undoubtedly, facing Bivol inside the ring means Canelo has to deposit his 100% efforts, which Canelo denies as he went through left-wrist surgery. Nevertheless, it will be Canelo’s trainer Eddy Reynoso, who will decide on whether to pick the fight against Ryder or not.
